What to Expect Beginner hike can feel like a relaxed outing. Most of the paths will be dirt and well-marked with minimal scrambling. You can anticipate a few exposed view-points, and some water/mud. Intermediate hikes can be challenging but manageable. There might be sustained uphill sections, rocky parts of the trail, and possible creek crossings or snow patches in the early seasons. Intermediate hikes are usually longer in mileage, involve steeper climbing to higher altitude, and more rugged terrain compared to a “beginner trail”. This type of hike still stays on established trails and does not usually require technical climbing skills or gear.

Advanced hikes require serious physical demands. Efforts may involve route-finding, extreme altitude, scrambling, exposure, or very long distances. Some border on mountaineering. Certain hikes may require:

Class 3 scrambling (using hands to move) and difficult terrain types including: talus, scree, snowfields, steep passes or exposed ridges.

DYLAN GARCIA

Born & raised in California; it’s been a dream life spending my time camping & exploring this beautiful area known as the Eastern Sierra. I’ve got a natural passion for the outdoors and I love sharing all that I’ve learned with anyone & everyone.

TIM BODEEN

I was raised in the Cascade Mountains of Washington State. I moved to Mammoth Lakes in 2014. I love skiing and the outdoors. Instead of hiking, I prefer to call it adventure walking. As in life, the diversity of the trail is never the same and always brings excitement. The stories we tell never seem to capture the beauty of the moment, it’s just better to be there. I enjoy being amazed by nature and look forward to sharing that with you.

GRACE PEREIRA

I have been hiking, backpacking, and skiing in the Sierra front and back country for more than five years. Previously, I have backpack guided in the Tahoe area and currently hold a wilderness first aid certification. I have also done extensive backpacking in Alaska and Montana.
I love traveling on and off trail, seeing beautiful alpine flowers (especially sky pilots!), and swimming in alpine lakes. Hopefully I’ll hike with you soon!

MAX GRENSTED

Growing up in California, I was lucky to have an abundance of amazing hiking around me. I have had experience backpacking and hiking in the Eastern Sierra, Alaska, and Northern Canada. I have a passion for sharing my knowledge and love for nature with others and can’t wait to get out on the trail with you.
